cats are not the most helpful pets

my cat, if you want to call her that (really, i’m pretty sure it’s more accurate to say the cat that claims me as her human) really loves to help me out around the house.

no, really.

in fact, over the last few weeks – you know, while i haven’t been posting – i’ve snapped a few shots of her in action. here we have her helping me out with the dusting:

and here we see how she loves to help with the vacuuming:

(okay, technically i snapped this one before i started up the vacuum; once i turn it on, she generally heads underneath the couch) later that night, she also helped me out with the laundry:

she’s great at keeping the basket warm while i fold, too – hopping on in and quickly falling asleep. one day, she decided she should help me clean the bathroom. here she is in the tub:

but this proved to be exhausting, so she decided she’d do what she did best and help me make the bed to wrap up the day:

as you can see – with her help, i can make a bed so flat the army calls me in to provide instruction and dozens of nursing schools across the country claim me as an alumnus, despite my never having attending any of them.

in conclusion, if you’re not big on housework, i encourage you to get yourself a cat. they’re great distractions, which help make chores go that much slower faster.

and when you decide to take my advice, make sure you adopt from a shelter. because, seriously, whenever the little shit gets on your last damn nerve, you can calm yourself by recalling you are a hero. you saved their life.
